Kevin Lysaght PT, OCS
Kevin Lysaght is co-founder and practicing Physical Therapist at First Step Physical Therapy.
Raised in Huntington, NY, Kevin graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University at Albany with a Bachelor of Science in human biology.
He received his Master of Physical Therapy from Hahnemann University, Philadelphia, PA, graduating with academic honors.
For the past 11 years, Kevin has worked as an outpatient therapist, a setting he finds very rewarding. In 2006, Kevin was recognized by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) as a board certified orthopedic clinical specialist. Committed to continuing education, he has taken additional course work, including studies in the Mckenzie, Mulligan, and Stanley Paris approaches.
During graduate school, Kevin found the amputee and prosthetic course work particularly interesting. He had the opportunity to gain clinical experience with this patient population during his time at the Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine, treating patients in the outpatient, inpatient, and cardiac rehab departments.
Kevin furthered his expertise treating people with amputations through continuing education course work and his time as staff physical therapist for a prosthetic company, exclusively treating their prosthetic patients.
In 2005, Kevin went on to work for the North Shore LIJ health system at Glen Cove Hospital, working in the inpatient and acute care setting. He has continued to specialize in amputee and prosthetic rehab treating patients in the outpatient setting.
