Bill Coughlin PT, DPT
Bill Coughlin is co-founder and practicing Physical Therapist at First Step Physical Therapy.
Following a career on Wall Street, he chose to pursue a career path in which he could help others live a more healthful and fulfilling life.
Bill received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from New York Institute of Technology (NYIT).
While at NYIT, he was extensively involved in research and was published in The Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research for a multidiscipline study “Martial Art Training Enhances the Glutathione Antioxidant System in Middle-Aged Adults”.
Following graduation, he was employed at Glen Cove Rehabilitation Hospital and recently worked full time as a private practitioner and performed per diem work as a home-care therapist. Bill has also set up physical therapy clinics in and around Beijing, China for children in foster homes and orphanages. A dedicated lifelong learner, he has completed over 20 continuing education courses and has been a clinical instructor to physical therapy students over the last three years.
An avid athlete, Bill is an active member of the Long Island Rugby Club and has played competitively both nationally and internationally.
His experience, dedication, healthy lifestyle, and witty sense of humor have enabled him to foster independence and success in his patients.
